-Are we taking new
patients?
The short answer is,
yes, because our clients become healthy and gain control over their
dental health. Once they become healthy they require less
care from us, leaving room for new patients.
-What’s a good
toothpaste?
Fluoride containing
toothpastes are beneficial for younger people.
Toothpastes that
contain anti-tartar components are helpful for adults. We feel that
the use of toothpaste should be strictly limited because it can add
to the harmful abrasion of teeth. Juggling a mouthful
of toothpaste can make it harder to tell if you are removing
plaque.
-What is the best
type of toothbrush to use?
For many people we
suggest electric brushes, which allows them to easily focus on the
primary task of plaque removal.
A soft
bristle toothbrush is the type we recommend.
Medium
and hard brushes are not recommended.
-What is the best
mouthwash to use?
We recommend
fluoride-containing mouthwashes.
-What about
bleaching?
We offer bleaching
products that are 80% stronger (14% peroxide) than those
that are available at pharmacies. Ask us for more
information.
-Is this going to
hurt?
We will do our best
to make sure you are as comfortable as possible. Let us
know!
-How can missing
teeth be replaced?
There are a variety of
options, which range from removable partial dentures to
implants.
-How much will
this cost?
Our fees reflect our
skill, care, and judgement and the best materials
available.
-What about
insurance? How much does it cover?
Insurance companies
rarely pay 100% of fees. We can send pre-authorizations to
your insurance company before beginning any work. This will
enable your insurance carrier to inform you of the portion of the
total cost that they will cover, allowing you to be able to
plan your finances before starting treatment. Sometimes the
insurance companies suggest an alternate (cheaper) treatment.
We will be glad to discuss the long-term ramifications of
that type of decision with you. Co-payment is due upon date
of service. Due to the Privacy Act insurance companies will
only speak to the person who has the insurance and not to the
dental office staff.

have any questions not answered here, feel free to call / fax
